Personal background |
I am an electrical engineer from Kentucky. I'm 43 and
before I went to college I was in the Marines. I've
been an engineer for about 12 years now. I work in
the Automotive industry
In addition to electronics and computers (and the search
for ET), I enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting and
fishing. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I think it's incredibly arrogant to think that "we're it".
The universe is an absolutely huge place with a very large
number of possible places for life to exist. We can't even
see all of it. Even if we could (see it all), there are
places where a signal sent eons ago would just now be
reaching the earth - if the beings there had the technology
that long ago. If they are just now getting it, we won't
know for eons.
EM phenomena are one indicator of 'intelligence', but not
necessarily the only one. Since our 'vision' is limited, I
suppose this is the form the project must take. |
