I am a 45 year old teacher from Queens, a borough of NYC. I teach English in a local high school but I love science thanks to Jacob Bronowski and his book, The Ascent of Man. I require my students to read the Science Times every Tuesday. It's a great pleasure to see "Ahaa's" when we read Science Fiction. I subscribe to Sky and Telescope and "play" with my Star Navigator Astronomy software. To look up at the sky, even in the city, and recognize planets and stars is thrilling.
I also act and write with local theater groups, but that is another ballgame entirely. |
