Personal background
My name is Baub Eis. I'm single and 33 years old. I am a computer network engineer/blues guitarist. I live at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, USA. I travel all over the country installing computer networks, and when I'm not busy doing that I'm busy with my Band "The Baub Eis Band." We can be seen at http://www.baub.com. I also develop websites, which can be seen at http://www.hip2click.com. I've been into amateur astronomy for a long time. I'm not really interested in stars and constellations and stuff. I'm really only interested in the inner planets, especially with Mars and the moons of jupiter. People want to look lightyears away for things. We need to be looking at things that are close to us.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes I think extraterrestrial life exists. I think humans will discover it at some point, I hope. If we could take all of the planets resources ($) that we use to kill each other and use those funds to explore the universe we would find things that would be beyond our imagination.

I think possible benefits would be better lighter metals and energy sources we don't yet know about or comprehend. I think the only danger that we would face we be to those that are afraid to acknowledge that there "is something out there" and that we aren't the only ones in this infinitesmal universe.

2. I'm not sure if we should transmit beacons or not. Advanced races could realize how vunerable and antiquated our technologies are.

3. I run SETI@home because I think its great. It just shows you what can be done if you put your mind to it. Here's a great story. There is this business associate that is very "religious". And is 100% sure, that there is no other life anywhere other than earth. Why else would God put someone somewhere else? Well we go round and round about this subject. He is also somewhat into astronomy. Well I was working late one night in the office, and I downloaded SETI@home onto his computer. I set it up so that I would get credit for work units completed. He called me up the next day and asked me to change it so that he would get credit for the work units. I asked him, "why?". He replied just in case. A ha! I got you! If you're so sure nothing exists, why would you want me to change it. Enough said.....
