Personal background |
I'm a tech at an ISP in the USA. I first saw Seti on one of our FreeBSD boxes and thought it was interesting. I'm just starting to get into UNIX so I figure that it would help me learn UNIX and at the same time when my box at home is idle, let it do some calculations.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I remember when I was back in middle school, I had a wonderful teach that really made an impact on me. I looked up to him because he was a true knowledge seeker. I asked him what his opinion was on ET life. He replied that it would be ignorant to think that we were the only life in an infinate area like space. This seemed very logical to me, so from that day on when I am asked what my feelings are about life out in space, I just remind the person how infinate space really is. (If this Seti thing works or will find them is another story- I just want to help out... It doesnt take much to let a program run!!! :) )
I really dont know of dangers but i do know this: Ignorance is bliss... |
