Personal background
I am a 23 year old US Army signal enlisted soldier stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. I have worked in LAN/WAN communications for 7 years and programmed computers since the 5th grade. Im heavily involved with network security at the moment.  I currently own and operate ANSWORLD.NET and operate a local LAN for the soldiers in the barracks. Before joining the US Army, I worked for Johnson Engineering(now owned by SpaceHAB), at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.   Making a career decision at the age of 5 shaped my life completely..! There is nothing like standing in the space station mock-up and seeing the space shuttle in person at that age.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

The SETI@home project takes a proven concept(distributed processing) and uses it for great purpose. I've known about SETI for some time, I just was making to many excuses not to run in on my machines. The ability to possibly make a difference, is what I am looking for. To not do anything does not help to prove or disprove.

Are the extra-terrestials out there? I dont know. I believe there might be something.. If they can find our beacon great, if they can not.. well it still doesnt mean anything.

As for SETI@home -- I run it my local machines because, I believe I am part of a union of world wide interests formulated to achieve a specific goal that I am proud to be a part of.

Let's wait and listen..
