Personal background
Hello

Just a little about me!!!

I am facinated by everything around me and want to know how it all works.

This world is a fantastic place to be, whether sitting and sunning, walking, diving or driving around. Nature has amazing spectacles for all of us too see.
Currently I am involved in setting up my own business (manufacturing novelty goods), so my time has become limited for pursuing the passions of my life. Mushroom hunting, walking, ornithology and scuba diving.

As time progresses with the business, I felt that I could offer the free resources on the computer system for helping out the Seti program.
This leads nicely into my interest in the universe we inhabit.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
For many years now I have wanted to be able to go there, wherever that is. Its a pretty big place out there and it has always seemed a bit selfish and arrogant of humans to think that we are all alone in this universe. It would be great to know that there are other cultures, races or beings uniquely different from our own inhabiting other planets similar or dissimilar to our own.

What a challenge for us to met extra-terestial beings and discuss our worlds thousands of billions of miles apart. Finding out about each other, talking about our families and finding common ground. When this happens, hopefully by then we as a species will have learned a few salutary lessons and be at peace with each other so that we don't carry our prides and preducies into the galaxy around us.

As for sending messages to extra terrestrial beings, we are doing that already. Radio waves have been going out from us for quite a number of years, all be it from entertainment transmissions. So any one we encounter out there will already have a pretty good idea of what we are like.

Why run Seti@Home? I just want to help find the answer to one of the human races greatest questions. Are we alone?
