Personal background
I'm an Alien.
I'm a legal Alien.
I'm an Englishman in L.A.

I run the following equipment: Dual Athlon 1800 scorcher with only 1Gb Ram so far, and water cooling coming
soon. Averages 4 hours per work unit. Alphaserver 4100 - Quad 5/466. Averages 11hours per processor. Dual PIII 500 web server with 1Gb Ram. Averages 10 to 12 hours per work unit. Another Dual PIII 500 MP3 server, same machine type (dot.gones are great). And various other hardware.
I wanna be the first to identify the signal, and I want to share in the glorious discovery with the human race. I want to be there on the frontline when we find out the truth, as the more intelligent of us suspect. I also want to enjoy the few, brief moments before the media go crazy, the governments of the world realize it is taxable (how?I dunno. I'm no bureaucrat), and before the military start pointing guns in that general direction. I want to see more telescopes pointed at the sky, and more people using their screensavers for good use. California's energy crisis is not helped by people leaving their computers on, but how many of them have OpenGL 3D text or flowerbox. What a waste of clock cycles.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Seti is a great idea, and Seti at home the best way to do it.

Maybe other companies will catch on and some of us with spare clock cycles can earn a few bucks.

I think a little bit more media hype is necessary, to attract more users.

But keep up the good work guys, and here, have my otherwise unused clock cycles. I was only using every fifth one anyway.
