Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?

Yes and they all play for the England football (Soccer to Americans) team. That’s why we are going to win the World Cup!!!!! YAY!!!!!

If so, when and how will humans discover it?

We may never find any. There is a great fear to some people that we are alone in this universe. How can we be alone when we live on a beautiful planet close to 9 BILLION people on it? Some people should spend more time looking around them, than up at the sky.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

Personally, I can’t see any short or medium term benefits. To start, with our technology it could take thousands of years to send a probe or craft there, and the life will probably be about the same level of technology as us or even more primitive will take them the same. If they where more advanced I'm sure they would have heard us already. But don’t forget there are 2 lots of citizens to think of. Them and us. If it doesnt suit them to make full contact we shouldn't.

If so, what information should we send?

Music. Varying from Mozart to the Beatles to modern. Pictures can be interpritated in many ways and confusing. Music, cannot be made by accident and is what makes human unique to the rest of the animal kingdom.

Why do you run SETI@home?

I just want to help.

What are your views about the project?

I admire the people who are organising it all. Working hard for something that may never appear. There is no guarantee that they will find anything, but they still press on "Just in case"
Keep up the work people.

Any suggestions?

Make it work faster. (Hehehehe) I do packets on average every 6 hours. My dad takes 12 hours. He wants to catch up to me.
