Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that there is the possibility of ET life, and SETI does commendable work trying to find it. I am very impressed at the power of SETI@home, and only hope that even if nothing is found by all the users, that the project will go on, and possibly other projects of a similar nature, ie using millions of computers around the world, will start to allow advancements and discoveries to be made more quickly in many fields.

I believe that one day we will encounter alien life, and it is possible that they have already encountered us. There are dangers relating to alien life, such as are they hostile? But let's be honest, if they can come 40 million light years, do you really think we have the technology to stop them doing whatever they want if they were hostile???

I think this project is fantastic, it just shows what the human race can achieve when they work together, and more over if only 2.5 million people on the planet can out perform the fastest and most powerful computer in the world, what could half the population achieve lending their spare computing power to all the research tasks in the world?
