Personal background
I am interested in so many things it's really ridiculous. Space and the quest for other lifeforms is one of them. I am a sponge when it comes to science and new studies so I am well oriented in many subjects. I find biological psychology very interesting & I have studied genetics at a pretty high level. I gave that up because of the absence of ethics among my peers and profs. We know we can... why don't we ask if we really should instead of just blasting onward with cloning and stemcell research. I found some of the methods quite apalling and decided that I didn't want to be part of it.

Michael Moore is my favourite American and I hope more people read his books and see his films. "Bowling for Columbine" is a really great movie that every American should see.

I am a gunhating, peaceloving, socialist son of an atheist... so my opinions are often very well recieved and appreciated in the US of A.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there is life somewhere else in the universe and that we're already discovered by aliens... or we'll discover other lifeforms in a distant StarTrek future (mankind joint together peacefully by socialism). I don't believe that it's going to be a spacevessel sponsored by Coke, Levi's and McD that will do the human exploring of the universe. A beacon or not... that is the question... I don't think we should transmit a beacon... because we look upon mankind as civilized but I urge you to take a look at what we do to Chimps who has 98% of our genetic code... what if we found an alien more powerful and further developed than mankind? We'd be the chimps of their civilization!

I run SETI@home because it's cool and I like helping out.
