Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that life exists outside of our planet. It is possible that life on Earth had been enabled to evolve due to the physical laws present in our part of the universe. If these laws are consistent throughout the universe, then there is a good chance that elsewhere, life exists.

When intelligent life is found, there is a 50/50 chance that it could be either malevolent or benevolent. If malevolent life is found, the risk to our species would be low to non existent due to the great distances between star systems.

Knowledge of other cultures outside our world will change our own cultures through the realization that we are not alone. Through knowing the truth, therefore, can we benefit from the experience of trying.

Computers have been a force in my life since before the first personal computer was invented. It has allowed me to use it as a tool in many areas of study. I am thrilled to be able to contribute in a small way to such a worthwhile program.
