Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well the concept of SETI@HOME is fabulous, for 2 reasons. First, obviously to me anyway, is the chance that with our group effort - we may find what we seek. However the concept of distributed processing is a valuable tool and SETI breaks the ground here. We all have many more CPU cycles than we need (most of the time!!) and it is a good thing to use them up. As far as I can guage - SETI affects my system - not.
