Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.) Of course there is life beyond Earth. It is statistically impossible to say that we are the only ones in this universe. We will most likely discover Extraterrestrial life after we figure out a faster way to travel through space. Let's think about it: At this point, we can barely make it to the next neighboring planet, let alone next star system. Unless we find that technology, we have quite a ways to go before we can find that outside life on our own.

2.) Sure we may send a beacon...We need to send something that denotes our intelligence in this universe....anything related to Mathematics, science, our physiology...

3.) SETI@Home is an awesome way to use the computing power we have on Earth to better ourselves as an entire society. It's a step forward to actually working together on a global scale.
