Profile: Tymek i Przyjaciele

Personal background
My name is Tim, I'm 21 and I used to be interested in everything what is scientifically wyerd. Now I'm studying computer science at AGH Kraków, Polska. AGH means University of Mining and Metalurgy if you ask.

With my friend Liwiusz, we're performing charitable job, which is to provide internet access to about 600 computers (:=users) located in localnet of student hostel ds14.agh.edu.pl.

I like GNU, and I hate M$, in that order. The calculations are being made nearby of my Debian GNU/Linux and on some other machines where I obtained process execution priviledge, excluding our main router of course :)

Sometimes I think that there are much more aliens in our own society, than we could ever imagine to be in the whole Universe.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I prefer Carl Sagan's theory where we assume existing of many star systems, few planets capable of creating Carbon/Silicon life. But we must remember that since the time we discovered the laws of nanoworld (for Quantum Electro Dynamics it's something over half a century ) we have already standed on the edge of global destruction. And unfortunatelly we are STILL there !!!

Other "civilizations" could disappear for a long before sending the first signal... BTW we still haven't sent any broadcast.

First we should work on discovering quantum "artificial" intelligence, later look for any eXtraterrestrial.

I do what I do only to raise 'stats' for my edu domain: agh.edu.pl

I don't care if we meet any ETs, I don't think I could marry one of them :-)
