Personal background
[b]I am currently studying for the MCSE 2000 certification and have already passed (with flying colors) two of the required 7 exams. My hobbies include building computers (of course), reading, playing computer SIMS and RPGs, and making a general nuisance of myself.

I am employed as a computer geek with a local firm here in Indiana.

My background includes: programming with COBOL, RPG, C, and I have done some Lotus Notes development (am learning Visual Basic now); networking solutions with Banyan Vines, UNIX (Solaris and Linux), Windows NT/2000, and Lotus Notes; building and repairing computers.

My next home project is to build a small linux box to play with.[b]

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@home is one of the more amazing distributed projects on the net. Nothing (in my humble opinion) is of more benefit to the human race than to discover that there is life on more than "our" planet. It is just plain hubris (again in my humble opinion) to think that God only created life on this one planet in this vast universe.
