Personal background
born `53 (and raised) in Austria - studied Mathematics (and for some time Physics ;) ) graduated in '78 - spent some of the time living in countries like England, France and Germany - works as a free lancing consultant for EDP based on Oracle (R) technology - sometimes singing songs of these well known classical composers (e.g. Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Verdi, ...) and their modern colleagues (e.g. Schönberg, Codaly, van Einem ...) within some choirs -
sometimes performing own brewed songs with some bands -
reading science fiction -
loves sailing and scuba-diving - and - having fun - of course
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I firmly believe, we're not alone - and that makes me support SETI@home ...

sometimes the problems in connecting to the data servers make me *uh lets call it* 'a bit angry' - because the calculations on my computers stall then ...
sometimes the non-availability of a connection to the web for my laptop does the same ...

so I switched to SETIBuf lately - which improved the overall behaviour and handling of my systems -

let's see, how the new BOINC-based version behaves ...
