I am an independant consulting living in Santa Clara, California. Originally from England I moved to Silicon Valley over twenty years ago and have settled her very happily. After working for big corporations for many years I enjoy the independance of working for myself. I am also learning a lot and meeting many interesting people.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that it is certain that there is intelligent lift somewhere else in the Universe. I do not think there is a high probability that an experiment such as SETI@home will locate signals from such life: we are just starting our search and our tools are very primitive. However, I know that it is important to try and I am proud to make a small contribution of the spare computing power from my PCs. It's only through the lessons learned from efforts such as this that we will have a chance of answering that question.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
