Personal background
I've got interests in too many things which keeps me a bit from getting specialized in anything. In my current job in IT I'm finding the right mix between technical, cultural and management.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Being as curious as always and with Stephen Hawkings's words in the back of my mind (it's statistically highly unlikely that we are the only intelligent life form in the universe) I joined SETI a while ago.

While preparing ourselves (SETI) to expect the unexpected and discover other intelligent life, lately I'm just wondering if we're intelligent enough to maintain our little planet and regain some peace. Imagine if it turns out that we are alone in the universe....hmmmm.

I recently read that monkeys are genetically less similar to each other than humans are, in fact we are genetically more equal than most other mammals.

At least monkeys manage to live together without racism, war and terrorism.

Until we meet other intelligent beings, we should also look around us and notice that we can even learn something from less intelligent beings on our own planet :-)
