Personal background
A bit of a computer-lover, born in the wonderful year of 1982. ;)
Living near the middle of sweden alone with a bunch of computers (4 to be exact).
Spare time is something i got a lot of, and i tend to fill it with something useless, or something useful like programming... :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti@Home mainly 'cause i think extraterrestial life exists, it's not likely that among billions of billions of planets, just ours would contain life. Sure, maybe it's not life as we know it, but at least we could hope it ;)
It would be fun having a chat with a extraterrestial being ;)

My views about the project is that it's a good one... Someday we'll discover some intelligent life (or they'll discover us), maybe it's when we invent something interesting that lets us explore the galaxy (or at least our solar-system), or they'll just fly by us and see that we're a planet buzzing with radiowaves (and a intelligent life should be interested in a planet buzzing with airwaves).
Sure we can't know if they're friendly or not, a good way in finding out could be finding 'em first and establish communication with 'em ;)
They'll probably wonder the same thing about us, if we're friendly or not.
Therefore it's a good project, that needs lots of lots of crunching power to cover our great sky above. Therefore i volunteer with my available CPU-power :D

And as comp's just keeps getting better, more and more wu's will be crunched in less and less time...
So lets find ET and ask him if he's been looking for us also :)
