I am 40 and you can you see me on the picture doing what I like very much (off road driving)
I live in The Netherlands with my girlfriend. We have two boys, Mika and Mats. Mika is now 2 and a half year old and Mats is 3,5 year old.
I see that I am user of the day so quicky have to inform you that 10 years have past since I wrote this profile, but not much has changed :-) |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

The basic
molecules seem to be all the same in the universe and there are a lot of stars
with planets. And since the universe is so incredible big, the odds that there
are planets with similar conditions as Earth is very likely. Combining that
with the theory about the origin of amino acid, the basic element of protein
(which are the basis for life forms) and Darwins theory about the origin of
species, it is for me clear that life (based on water) is common in the
universe. Even intelligent life must be common.
I think
curiosity is the big power behind the development of intelligence, that makes
it also likely that intelligent life forms are curious about what is there in
the universe, so if they are technically developed enough (on Earth we are just
starting) they will seek for extra terrestrial life. I think that some ET’s are
communicating and visiting other ET’s already. Suppose that they have another
planet close to their planet, and life developed there too simultaneously?
I believe
that we should not be afraid that we get visitors that will harm us, therefore
the distance is too big (10 – 100 light-years?) And life forms that can travel
over 10 light-years have solved all their technical needs and just visit us for
their social needs and because of their curiosity. I think that we will find ET
and learn how to communicate. If so we can exchange technology and pictures!!,
O I hope we will find them soon, I can’t wait to see how they look!! The SETI
project is a good project, I know as a manager and as a person that good communication starts with listening... |
