Personal background |
An electrical engineer turned business school graduate, I have mostly lived in India's silicon valley - Bangalore. Astronomy and amateur radio are my big passions and I used to spend a lot of time watching the stars or turning the dials. Financial IT services are my calling now and results in long hours but its exciting work nevertheless. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
My belief in the existence of other beings stems from my deep belief that our five senses are insufficent to grasp the complexity of the physical world around us (of course that includes the earth itself) and therefore even the question of is there other out there is a non-question. Of course it exists, its just our inability to reach out to them or the other way around in a meaningful and perceptible manner that is under question.
It is uncertain what such contact would bring out - so there is little merit in debating that and so the search must simply go on.
Running SETI@home, well I see this as putting my shoulder to the wheel and brings about my passions for astronomy, amateur radio and computers in a unique sort of way. |
