Personal background

Hi,

I'm from the DC Metro area. I founded "Daystrom Institute", an IT company. Currently, we are doing R&D on new technologies that will improve the interaction between computers and humans.

I am also a composer/musician. I have played (at one time or another) just about every instrument out there. However, I am currently focusing on composing a new genre of gospel music. Send me an email for more details.

After 44 years, I FINALLY found someone who deserves the world. I'd like to give her the gift of discovering a new one as well.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

1. I believe (as most learned people believe) that it would be rather arrogant to assume that humans are the only life that exists in the universe. This does not interfere with my very strong religious beliefs. There is no reason to assume that if God created man, he/she/it didn't create other forms of intelligent life in other parts of the vastness of space.

2. Yes, we should transmit some form of becon. I beleive the current method of mathematical formulas and simple definitions should be sufficient.

3. I run SETI@home because (a.) I believe this is an extremely efficient way to process this kind of information, and (b.) I would like to be a part of the discovery. Even if information my computers have processed don't lead directly to a "hit", I have still helped by eliminating what I can.
