Personal background
Hello fellow Earth dwelling creatures! I send you greetings from Memphis, TN.
I enjoy building computers/networks, searching for ET, and making homemade beer. Yum!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET is alive and well, in my humble opinion. An "infinite" universe created just for us, no way! Think about it. One hundred years ago, if you told someone that you could transmit live video/audio from overseas, you would probably think that person is crazy. Human technology has made more progress in the last 100 years than all mankinds inventions since the creation of time, as we know it.
What will we invent/discover 20 years from now? Technology breeds a new insight into our universe and ourselves. Perhaps ET is talking to you right now, but we don't know how to acknowledge "them". ET will probably have to land in full view of a camera before most people will believe in their existance. Then what? Religion as we know it will change forever. Did my Supreme Being create these creatures too? Will they look like me with arms and legs? Do they have a soul? Interesting concept. When ET makes their presence known to all of us, what happens if we find out we are nothing more than a science project and they are just doing a follow up on their experiment? I believe we should take steps to contact ET if for no other reason than to explore and understand ourselves. Exploration is a vital part of human existance. Understanding what we have found is another issue. Happy hunting!
