Personal background
I live in Sumy, Ukraine. Currently I working for ISP SIM as system administrator. Seti@home runs on our FreeBSD servers, mostly Pentium III 450 Mhz or better. I running seti@home for about 2 years (I don't remember exactly). For today I using following configuration:

1) Seti@home installed from FreeBSD ports collection
2) In crontab I have following strings:

1 7 * * * root /usr/local/etc/rc.d/setiathome.sh start
30 22 * * * root /usr/local/etc/rc.d/setiathome.sh stop

At day we do the main job, at night we crashing work units from Seti ;)

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I beleive, we are not alone in space. Beacon MUST be sent, it must carry some sort of redundant signal, which will be easy to decode by ETI.

If Seti@home will not find ETI, this project will do great research work, it will be a great step in science.

One suggestion: guys, compile Seti@home for FreeBSD 4.5 with Pentium Pro optimizations, I think this can help us work more productive.
