Profile: Giuseppe 'Pippo' Bianco, ASI/CGS, Matera, Italy

Personal background
I'm an astronomer from Matera, Italy, where I work for the Italian Space Agency as head of the Space Geodesy Center. I'm 43, married, and proud father of two kids. My hobbies: playing drums in a jazz band ("The Six Machine"), sailing, boatbuilding, photography.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I definitely think there's "life" somewhere else than on Earth, and that discovering a proof of it will definitely force mankind to review and rewrite philosophy, religions and politics. Searching for ET life evidence is something we have to look at as one of the highest priorities in philosphy, science and technology.
Seti@home is a beautiful project derived from a brilliant idea, and I think that it's a great way to use billions hours of CPU time which would be otherwise wasted in cycling colored tubes or pin up pictures on computer screens all over the world. Keep up the good work!
