Personal background
I'm from Washington DC, 43yrs old, and I work at a Content Management software company in Rockville Maryland. I love writing hi-tech software that improves the quality of life for many people. I have always been interested in science ever since I was a young boy(that's how I got into computers). I'd like to thank those at the US Naval Observatory for their open house visits, my older brother Rick for letting me stargaze with him in the backyard, Gene Rodenberry for inspiring so many imaginations of a brighter future, and most of all, I'd like to thank everybody who has made a contribution towards space science, rocketry, aerospace technology, and inspiring future generations.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I beleive that in all of the countless stars in the universe, that there has to be someone out there looking back at us and wondering if they are alone in the universe too. Distant signals from an another civiliztion might provide some clue as to who we are, how to solve our common problems, and how truly precious and wonderful intelligent life is. Ultimatly, those distant signals might one day be our own left for someone else to hear.
Thank you for all of the hard work and keep the search going! I wish the international community would setup a very large radio telescope array on the far side of the moon (to cut earth based interference) and make SETI (receivers/transmitters) an international science project.
