I'm an international relations kind of guy, and I would love to become an interplanetary relations kind of guy!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I absolutely think that there is intelligent life out there somewhere. Realistically, though, I think ET is more likely to find us than we are him/her/it (at this point in time, anyway). I think the best we can hope for is to meet a benevolent group of ET explorers. (The alternative is scary!) Until we develop faster methods of interplanetary/interstellar travel, I don't think we should be ringing the door of the cosmos. The SETI@home project, though, seems to be the least contribution I can make to the search for ET. (I hope we find him/her/it!)
