Personal background
I am a part time everything; physicist, astronomer, cosmologist, audi freak, computer programmer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course I think extraterrestrials exist, or I wouldn't be running my CPU 24/7 analyzing all this data. I've seen some profiles here where the user is just interested in helping to find ET. I do too but I also want the recognition as a finder or co-finder of the discovery. In fact I'll bet everyone here does but won't admit it.
I would personally hold up on the beacon thing until we know who or what we are dealing with. The species may not see things our way.
Besides I think we should first arm ourselves or before you know it we will have UFO baby's sprouting all over the place and men turning into dogs.
On a more serious note with all the hours of CPU time that has been spent on this project I think we should consider another method or frequency perhaps, because this is appearing to be a KO.
