Personal background
I live in Eugene, Oregon, where I am the Department Manager for the Economics Department at the University of Oregon. I have an amateur interest in astronomy. I read all sorts of literature and enjoy quilting and gardening. I speak French, Spanish, German, and a little bit of Italian.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I downloaded the SETI program shortly after I first heard of it in the media. I know there are other beings out there in the universe and think it is terribly arrogant to assume we are alone. It's just not logical. I am not a believer in UFOs or alien abduction, but do believe that life exists on other worlds. I have no idea what stage of development these other life forms may have achieved, but do think there may be some at the same level or at a more advanced level than ourselves.
