Interests: Family, dogs & cats, astronomy & astrophysics, climate science, community participation, faith & spirituality, fishing & camping, golf.

Location: On the shores of Gitchee Gumee, near the Porcupine Mountains of the western UP.

Occupation: None. In a former life I developed new materials & processes, developed websites, managed corporate environmental, health & safety compliance, and hazardous waste disposal, and toward the end of it all delved in business process analysis.

TV Preferences: Deadliest Catch, A:TLF, Yukon Men, Helix, Duck Dynasty, Resurrection, Believe, Hangar 1, Pawn Stars, Mythbusters, Top Shot and a few I've failed to mention.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I fully expect extraterrestrial life exists, and I expect we will encounter it... if we haven't already ;) I don't see our Creator being so small as to permit only one flavor of intelligent life form in the entire cosmos.

I believe we should transmit our own "beacon." As to content, I don't know about content, but there should be sufficient information to reveal that the signal source is artificial and intelligent, and should provide a location, and an invitation to return the communication.

I run SETI on one PC at home; I certainly hope -- first -- to contribute to the overall effort, and -- second -- hope that it might be my machine that happens to capture that "Wow" encounter with another race of intelligent life, changing Mankind's view of itself forever.!
