Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life definately exists. If you look at the drake equation, you by far will understand that there must be life elsewhere. After taking into consideration the number of galaxies in the Universe, and the number of stars in those galaxies, then the number of suitable planets which could hold life on them, mathematics and probability clearly say that the chances are very slim that we ARE actually alone.

Whether the other life forms are advanced or not, no one can be sure. Although we are searching for radio waves, optical, lasers and etc from the universe, will we actually be able to hear or see anything? Have most of the civilizations already become invisible from our listening devices?
perhaps, but perhaps not.

It is apparent that we would benefit greatly from such a discovery. Not only would many of our religious and scientific questions be answered, we would also have a huge scientific gain. A new goal could be set to make the first communication with the species, and hopefully all will go well.
However of course there are many dangers with speaking to someone we do not know for the first time. Will they be peacefull? Or will they merely wish to consume our own resources and leave us in the dust?

I run SETI@home because i feel I am helping all of mandkind and participating in such a great idea.
Currently other others are signed up as a group with me, these people include:
Lowbacca, DarthJames, Woz, and Xandrosh.

Congrats!

We all agree that the project is a great idea, and not before too long we will have expanded our frequency search, and be able to hear and see what we're looking for out there.
