| I was born in 1965 and am currently living in Texas. I moved from Wisconsin about a while back. Love to star gaze read sci-fi and play with my pc. Personally, i think that there is life out there. To think that we as a race came about in less that 10,000 years of civilization and are looking to the stars and no others exist. What about other star systems where the animals weren't wiped out on a regular basis by asteroids/comet collisions. Surely someone somewhere exists that is much more advanced than ourselves. The frightening aspect is some thing I read in a book by Greg Bear. He explained that a reason we dont hear anything out there is that the galaxy is filled with hawks(militarized aliens) and sparrows(worlds such as ours) that beam radio waves at enormous volumes into space. surely someone or something would hear this and respond. Is this really what we want, though? I would be satisfied knowing we aren't alone.
