I believe that the greatest discovery of this next century will be when we confirm the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. I believe most people discount ETI as flying saucers and sci-fi flicks. When this ETI is confimed, whole belief structures will have to change to account for this new knowledge. It will invariable cause chaos in some areas, as people try to defend their old paradigms by denying the new truth, but this has always been the case.
