I remember hearing about the SETI at home project back in the day, seemed like a good idea (not quite as good as my fix-all cure for the worlds energy needs, you see you take this pez dispenser and an industrial electromagnet and you...)
As for whether there is extraterrestrial life, I'd have to say, um... yeah, sure. Otherwise, what was it that my uncle saw? A very speedy weather balloon, I think not.
