Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think its probably impossible to calculate the odds that in all the universe there is only us, so yes I do believe there is other life on other planets. The benefits are countless and so are the dangers, one needs only to watch a little science fiction to pounder the outcome of first contact.

About the Beacon, personnaly I dont think where ready to receive visitors our own planet is in chaos, who would want an intelligent civilization to see what we are doing to ourselfs and our planet.

Personally I run Seti@home for one simple reason ---If someone else is transmitting a signal we should take the time to find it. Maybe when everyone on the planet realize where not alone thing will change for the better.
