Profile: Joachim Reinhold

Personal background
Archaelogical report - We don't know exactly when Joachim Reinhold was born, but he was a so-called 'human' from a small but beautiful planet - the 'humans' did call it EARTH. From what we know he lived shortly before we made contact, in fact they used thousands of computers all united via their planetary web in search for species like ours - what made it unique was the fact that this project was non-profit, no military - just run by people eager for peace, discovery and universal understanding.

We learnd from the very few files from that period that Joachim was a modest and friendly chap from the terranian district of Germany. He was married and worked for the local government as a living. He had many hobbies, one of them was Seti, another the search for peace and a third to play on stage with his very own theatre company.

He admired Carl Sagan and similar scientists and he allways looked above - towards the stars, with them he felt "somehow united within the miracles of the cosmos" and he really tried hard to live his live as "star stuff" and to learn more about the universe.

We hope to find more facts in our search for more information from Earth - stay tuned... ;o)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
"Well, I do think that we are not alone - perhaps we might find our brothers and sisters, perhaps they find us. Even if they are just microbes, we should treat them with honor and dignity as it simply would proof that creation didn't just happend overhere.

Seti is a fine thing but as it would just reveal civilisations at least equal in radio technology there is a certain danger not to persue the quest for finding life which isn't able to communicate via radiowaves. And perhaps by looking to deep for friends, we might overlook that there are many species on our own planet which need greater attention at the monent - attention to survive. If we won't manage our own business here how can we stand up as a race and face others? Just my humble thought, nevertheless - the search continues..."
