Personal background |
Happy New Year everyone! I'm a 17y/o HS student USA and I'm into surfing the web and computer hardware in general. Outside of my house, I love to party, work on my car and obcourse hang out in the town.
I joined SETI@Home, TeAm AnandTech on January 1st 2002. I suppose you can say I'm part of SETI and TeAm AnandTech. Hey! I'm a New Year's day boy. Hard to forget me eh?
details on my setup:
Anyways, I'll try to work my way up the list and I currently have my SETI@Home client set to run all the time. I turn off my computer at night since I don't like to listen to its noise while I'm sleeping, but I'll try to have SETI running whenever its on.
I mainly surf the net, chat on Instant Messangers, use office softwares and very ocassionally use processor intensive softwares and my computer is difinitely overkill for this so why not use the extra power here :)
Specs:
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1400MHz
512MB DDR PC2100 memory
Microsoft Windows Me
DSL connection to the net
Its difinitely overkill for an Athlon 1.4GHz

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
ummm I wouldn't say yes or no...
2. no comment
3. I thought distributed computer was an interesting idea and I figured I'd try something new for the year 2002. |
