Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life exists, there is no doubt about that. Other question is the extraterrestrial intelligence. If it exists, which has a high probability, we'll find it, and it's only a matter of time. There are no benefits and danger of such discovery, because, as a matter of fact, we won't be able to communicate with them due to distance. The important thing is, that we will know for shure, that we are not the only intelligent being, and that we are not alone in cosmos. This will raise hope of meeting or communicating with them some day. We should send signs too, to make others find us easyer. This information should be peaceful, short and simple, and should express that we are intelligent, and that we are here, in this very corner of cosmos. When we are looking for an intelligent lifeform, we should always proceed form our behavour as an intelligent one, and that in its entirety, then from the possible methods of searching, and transmitting a beacon for others. We should try to figure out their thoughts, to think with their mind, the mind that probably works similar to ours. It's not a shame to take ideas even from sci-fi novels. All what our mind conceive, they can conceive, and even furthermore attain it too.
