Profile: Peter C. Johnson

Personal background
I live in Reading,Pennsylvania, I am a Futurist and always have been. Iwas raised
a paranoid survivalist type, yet have managed to overcome it. At the present
time, I am a Bartender. I work at a family resturant that has been in existance
for seventy years. I love to read, the most recent rave author is Terry
Pratchett. If ANYONE reads this, or cares, read Pratchett, it's worth your
time. I have a tendancy to introspection, I rant about things I find worthless
or unneccessary and I am passionate about women. It is a constant irratant to me
that I make lesbians comfortable, and married women curious. Life is
not fair. I never expected it to be, however enough is enough.
I have heard( And I would like to know if it's true,) that if you are the one whos
computer detects a signal, you get to name them,(Or untill we find out what
they call themselves) If so, I will call them WALLY, therefore walloons.
I take this project and it's goals seriously, it's everything else that's
funny.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. The probbability of extraterrestrial life considering the number of suns,
the number of galaxys and the number of superclusters WITHIN our ability to
detect aproaches one. There is life. Multi cellular, organized life that we
would recognize, yes. Technological life sending signals the way we would,
Hmmm tricky. That life exists is a given. Life with a mojo to be seen and heard, less
so. Life that we could communicate with... ask a dolphin.
2. On this I'm not so sure. There are two worst case scenarios that keep
waking me up. That we attract the extraterestrial equevalent of Donald
Trump, or worse, the EX-TEE Jerry Falwell. These are human concepts, but frightening.
However, it's not necessary to transmit a beacon, since we have been useing radio and T.V.
Earth has put out the E.M.radiations of a small sun. A dead give away, don't
you think?
3. I hope. If there are aliens, even if we never meet them, Iwould die happy knowing they were
there.
