Personal background |
I'm a Web Designer but I wear many hats - most of them at work. Comes from that double major in English and Computer Science undergrad.
Hobbies? Rebooting, tinkering, rebooting again, tinkering some more - you get the picture. Seriously, I am interested in poetry (particularly Anglo-Saxon and Middle-English), PC computer games and quality jazz music. I am also a mean Spades player - ever go Nil with the King of Spades? Didn't think so. :) |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
E.T. exists?
"Sheep not of these fields" ladies and gentleman - biblical proof of E.T. life? Maybe - I would like to think so. Look it up.
Beacons?
I think humanity might want to get its act together (i.e. stop all the stupid violence) before sending out any "hey we're the friendliest folks in the galaxy" beacons.
Why SETI@home?
It stress-tests my machine if nothing else. I'm running a dual-processor machine with a MSI K7D Master motherboard and all the fixins. I do alot of actual work on the computer so I cannot compete with many of these dedicated "crunch machines." However, I hold my own. |
