Personal background
Hi everybody!
I'm Salva from Italy. I'm 29 years old, and I'm a telecommunications engineer.
I love sports, reading, science matters, and going to the movies. And, yes, I also like good cooking! ;-P I'm proud to help Seti Project, and I hope that the search for an extraterrestrial intelligence, will contribute one day to make ours, a better one. This is especially true in these days of war. I use to dream the day of the "contact", like the day when all people of earth will feel a bit smaller, and hence, I hope, a little more.. united. Salva
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think extraterrestrial life exists (or at least that it existed, or that it'll exist! ;-) ). I'm quite into statistics, and I'm an engineer, so I agree with Sagan and Drake, and others that think that such a space would be a waste, if "designed" only for us.. ;-)
I don't know which benefits and dangers could bring such a discovery. I hope it would make us feel a bit more like "brothers", but I also think that some "mess" could happen (too many fanatics around the world..).

2. Yes I think humans should transmit a beacon. And we should send a signal of peace and hope. I'm only afraid that a visitor could be disappointed finding out that after all, we're not so peaceful.. :(

3. I run SETI@home because I'm a curious person, 'cause I'm fascinated by
science, technology, space exploration, physics, and I look forward to seeing where the future will take us.
