Personal background
Hello my name is Tom, I am from Australia. I am a Database Geologist and have worked throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea. I think that the SETI at Home project is a great concept and wish to continue the project under BOINC.

In total I am happy to say that I have done over 10,000 hours computing time with the SETI project...mostly on only one computer at a time....starting on my ancient Pentium 150 in 2001 when I started which would take over 130 hours to complete a unit (in screensaver mode)to my Celeron 466 which would take just over 30 hrs per unit to my AMD2000 which would take around 4.5 hours per unit to my twin processor Pentium IV at work which would only take just over 3 hours to do a unit!

Cheers,
Tom - Australia.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)- I run SETI@home because I have always had a keen interest in ANYTHING associated with space and space exploration. Plus I love testing my computers out using SETI as I feel timing the work units is a good indicator of your computer's power.
2)- I love the project well done guys. Nothing else to say there.
3)- Any suggestions? Yeah I would like to see the screensaver show more relevant data. Or maybe the colours of the lines to reflect moreso the data itself rather than be purely asthetic like they have always been. Maybe the graph could let you know how many computations per second your computer is managing etc.
