Personal background
I currently reside in Joplin Missouri. My age is 46 I am disabled. My hobbies are building and maintainig my own computers have worked with all Windows operating systems. I troubleshoot friends computers and enjoy getting them back in when they are locked out hopefully with minimal data loss. I give instruction in basic computer skills. Why do I believe in the SETI project because we are not the only intelligent life forms out there. In July of 1981 or 1982 while I was on a camping trip at the Baron Fork Creek in Oklahoma when I witnessed a set of events occur. I was looking up in the sky and what I thought were stars in two seperate groups were moving in formation much to my surprise! They formed a strait line still in two groups and went through some kind of a rolling movement and formed a strait line apparently some kind of docking procedure and vanished I was not the only one that seen this event. I do not belive that this was due to any space craft that we had up at the time and it did not look like anything that our spacecraft were capable of doing. I run four computers at home on a network and devote all of my processing power to the SETI project. I do believe that contact will be made sometime in the future.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Because it gives me something useful to do with my computers. The other reason is that I don't believe we are it, the only (Intelligent Beings) out there. I think that the project is great and serves a very useful cause. I think there is so much we could learn from making contact. As mentioned above I am disabled and this is the only way I can contribute to the project. So I have been running work units since December 25, 2000 devoting all of my computers resources to that. When I am able I increase the processing power of all of my computers to be able to process work units faster. The only thing that I would like to see is to be able to store unprocessed units in a cache so that when the Net goes down I could continue to process work units as I did with SETI Driver.
