Personal background
I live in Queensland Australia, I'm 31 and I work for the Fed Govt (babysitting computers). I'm into radio control flying (planes and helicopters) and computing.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, but not necessarily in the form we're used to. I think the likelyhood of finding 'aliens', in the popular opinion sense of the term, is incredibly unlikely. I think it's more likely we'll find 'life' that is adapted to whatever environment it has to exist in.
2. Yes, although it doesn't really matter what it is. Nothing we find will be able to understand it anyway.....half the people on this planet alone can't understand the other half :-)
3. Because I can. I think it's a fantastic opportunity to contribute to something that is being conducted as a truly global/international effort. My only suggestion? Keep it going!!
