1. Yes, I think et life does exist but I suspect we will never confirm it unless new, non-predictable, techniques are developed. We should continue to try however. At present I see no benefits or dangers in a positive discovery.
2. A good idea to send a beacon. I think it should be digital not analogue but have few views on what it should contain.
3. My computer is idle much of the time but is usually on and this is an excellent way to do something useful.
