Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, life must exist elsewhere. Perhaps we can discover a signal, but odds are against it. If and when space or time travel becomes possible, humanity might have mentally advanced. These things remain in doubt. 2. Beacon? Even at the speed of light, the distances are very great. Perhaps once radio transmission is reduced as times change, a beacon might beome usefull. 3. One has to start somewhere and somehow to establish that we exist or did exist.
