Personal background
I'm a small purple alien from Betelgeuse--

No, that's been done a million times...

How about this; I'm a world-famous movie star registered here under a secret name--

Nope, that won't fly either...

Honesty? You want me to try honesty?

Yeesh. I'm a radio announcer in a small country town, Victoria. I run our station's website, which is fun. I like music and reading and...

That's enough. What, am I auditioning for a blind date here?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does extraterrestrial life exist? Yes, I'd say so; infinite universe and all that. Whether or not ET's buzzing Earth and picking people up for peculiar tests or cutting up cows is another matter.

I run SETI@home because it helps keep my computer lean and mean; it's lost 30 kilos by doing nothing at all since I started the SETI@home easy exercise program (shame the same can't be said for me).

Seriously, SETI@home's been a huge project and it's really shown the potential of distributed processing projects. There are others now, but (I think) SETI was the first; it's paved the way for other research projects into possible cancer cures and the like.
