Personal background
I am from where everyone else is from. I am interested in the same things we are all interested in; giving my life meaning, learning every day, understanding myself and my species, and eating lots of fishies. I enjoy doing things that help me reach these goals... mostly a combination of physical activity (swimming, leaping air-borne barrel rolls, etc..), mental stimulation (i.e. playing mind games with tourists), and lots of laughter (ee ee ee, ee ee ee).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Although you might not understand me, and I you, I believe that we speak the same language. I believe other beings in the oceans-which-are-not-oceans also speak this language, and that we should have the opportunity to try to understand each other.
I think SETI is a fantastic opportunity to explore the benefits of an open society sharing information. I only wish I could run more instances to help promote both the idea of this activity, and the possibility of actually contacting other forms of intelligence. damn these flippers.

on the subject of SETI's possible risks , I quote a recently heard mal-aphorism: "if you never try anything new, you'll miss out on life's many great disappointments"

I think my feelings can again best be summed up by another quote, from the famous poet Timothy St. Dorsalfinhead: ee ee ee, ee ee ee, ee ee ee
