Profile: KWSN - Promethea (the Wanderer)

Personal background
Hello and Ni!

I'm a [fairly] proud member of The Knights Who Say Ni! Seti team - check out www.knightswhosayni.net - also their new Folding@home team, another big distributed computing project

That's it for now - I, er, didn't have a speech prepared..

Oh - "the Wanderer" is my tribute to Sergio Aragones, creator of Groo amd so many other amazing and wonderful things. checkout groo.com, sergioaragones.com or http://povonline.com/
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I do believe there is more life in the universe than is found on Earth - it would be incredible arrogance to assume otherwise. Whether we Earthlings will find it, recognize it, or appreciate it is essentially unknowable. I hope so, but then I have seen enough here to hope that for their sake, any non-Earth life will contact us only if they wish to.

2. Conversely, I would think we had best learn first, then decide whether to advertise. We aren't doing a bang-up job of celestial PR as a planet...

3. The project, and distributed computing in general is a stroke of genius. I'm happy to lend my small part to such larger causes - I'd love to see real results, but it's got to be a good thing that brings so many from so many backgrounds *together* in common, constructive cause.
