| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Does ET life exist? I would imagine it does. How will we discover it. My guess is that it will find us first. Benefits and dangers? Who knows?
Should we send a beacon and what should it say? Sure send one. What to say is a bit harder. I would think that just making noise that isn't concidered "random space noise" would be enough to attract some kind of attention. I don't think you can really say anything specific. If someone else is listening, they will know more about us first, before they show themselves.
Why do I run SETI? My computer sits idle more than it runs. As long as it is running, why not have it help some one else out? |
